REGISTRATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By registering for the Global Congress of Chemical Engineering 2024, all participants agree to be bound by, and comply with, the following Terms and Conditions. It is the participant’s responsibility to read and understand these Terms and Conditions.

REGISTRATION

  • Registration fees (Excluding 15% VAT) are as follows:

  • Additional costs will be charged for functions and activities not included in the registration fee, i.e. Gala Dinner, Excursions.
  • Accommodation and travel costs are not included in the registration fee. Attendees are responsible for making their own lodging and transportation arrangements.

 PAYMENT

  1. Upon registration, an invoice will be sent to the e-mail address provided.
  2. All payments must be made in full within 10 days of registration as per the instructions on the invoice. 
  3. Once payment is made, send proof of payment to saiche@mweb.co.za
  4. If payment is not made within 10 days or no alternative arrangements have been made, the registration details will be deleted and the participant will need to register again.
  5. Once payment is received, an e-mail will be sent to acknowledge payment and confirm registration. 
  6. For those who wish to receive official receipts, kindly select the appropriate option in the registration form and provide the requested details.
  7. For those wishing to receive a CPD point certificate for ECSA, kindly select the appropriate option in the registration form.  The certificate will only be sent after the event on 21 October 2024

CANCELLATION OR TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION

  1. All payments are non-refundable, but is transferrable.
  2. To transfer a registration, send an e-mail request to saiche@mweb.co.za before 15 July 2024, 11:59 PM
  3. If the registration category of the new registration differs from the original, or if the transfer is requested after the early bird registration, additional costs will be charged.  Where the transfer is to a lower rate, no refunds will be given.   

DATA PRIVACY

How Information is Collected and What will be Collected

By registering as a participant to the Global Congress of Chemical Engineering 2024 the Organizing Committee, South African Institution of Chemical Engineers will collect (either manually or electronically), store, access and/or process your personal information as provided on the registration form.

How We Use and Share Collected Information

The collection and processing of the information will be used solely for the following purposes:

  • Processing of registration.
  • Sharing of collected information with participants, event partners, speakers, and sponsors and exhibitors.
  • Sending of event updates, and marketing and promotional information about the GCCE2024 and future events. 
  • Cases where it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or act on illegal activities, suspected fraud, and situations involving potential threats to safety of any person, violations to this Policy, or as evidence in litigation in which the GCCE2024 is involved.

Data Transfer

Where the organizing committee of the Global Congress of Chemical Engineering 2024 considers it necessary or appropriate, for the purposes of data storage and processing, your personal data may be transferred to other databases, under appropriate conditions and levels of security safeguards.

Compliance with Protection of Personal Information Act 

CONSENT TO PROCESS PERSONAL INFORMATION IN TERMS OF THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION ACT, NO. 4 OF 2013 (POPIA)

The purpose of the POPIA is to protect personal information of individuals and businesses and to give effect to their right of privacy as provided for in the Constitution. By acknowledging these terms and conditions, you consent to your personal information to be processed by the GCCE2024 and consent is effective immediately and will remain effective until such consent is withdrawn. Consequently, you agree to the following:

  1. I, a natural person, hereby give my consent to GCCE2024 to collect, process and distribute my personal information where the GCCE2024 is legally required to do so.
  2. I understand my right to privacy and the right to have my personal information processed in accordance with the conditions for the lawful processing of personal information. 
  3. I understand the purposes for which my personal information is required and for which it will be used and consent to third parties accessing my personal information and to GCCE2024 sharing my personal information strictly for reporting purposes. 
  4. I understand that, should I refuse to provide GCCE2024 with the required consent and/ or information, I will be unable to act as reviewer for the GCCE2024 conference proceedings.
  5. I declare that all my personal information supplied to GCCE2024 is accurate, up to date, not misleading and that it is complete in all respects and will be held and/ or stored securely for the purpose for which it was collected and that I will immediately advise GCCE2024 of any changes to my Personal Information should any of these details change.
  6. I also understand that I have the right to request that my personal information be corrected or deleted, if it is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading, or obtained unlawfully or that the personal information or record be destroyed or deleted if the responsible party is no longer authorised to retain it.
  7. I have the right to seek independent legal counsel as it relates to this consent form

Retention of Information

Only contact information such as names, surnames, contact phone numbers and e-mail addresses will be obtained.  All other data will be deleted by 30 November 2024

Changes to this Policy

The organizing committee of the Global Congress of Chemical Engineering 2024 may update this Data Privacy Policy. Any changes will be updated on this site or provided to you at your request.

Right to Privacy

You have the right to be informed, object to processing, access, correct, erase, and blocking of your data. Under the Data Privacy Act, you need to comply with appropriate procedures and conditions to exercise or invoke such rights.
